"I’ve been at Trinity Buoy Wharf since 1998 and I feel very lucky to have my studio at such an exciting and unique location with so much creative activity around me.
I’m a sculptor who previously specialised in metalwork and bronze-casting, including some publicly sited sculptures. More recently I’ve worked in ceramics, initially by making smaller scale representational objects, mostly animals, using modelling and slab-building techniques. I now use hand-coiling to make multiple element constructions to a much larger scale. I’m working on a series of these abstract sculptures attempting to explore and push the material and using polychromatic glazes to create exactly the effects I want.
I feel that these works are well suited to many internal locations but I would also like to make similar site-specific works in reinforced concrete or bronze for outdoor spaces." J. D. Fox
