About the Prize

The Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize has an established reputation as the UK’s most important annual open exhibition for drawing. Founded in 1994 by Professor Anita Taylor, artist and Dean of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design at the University of Dundee, the annual open exhibition is known for celebrating excellence in contemporary drawing practice, and for championing the role, breadth and value of drawing in creative practice today.

The exhibition and awards are open to applications by emerging, mid-career and established drawing practitioners located anywhere in the UK and internationally. There are two submission and selection processes: one for the main exhibition and awards and a separate criteria and process for the Working Drawing Award with a specific remit to celebrate and promote the role of drawing within architecture, design and making processes.
