Patrick Grant launches Future Textiles London

27 February 2019

"Patrick Grant, the Savile Row tailor and judge of television’s The Great British Sewing Bee, helped to launch The Prince’s Foundation’s fashion and textiles education programme for London secondary school pupils.

Grant launched Future Textiles London, an extension of a successful initiative by The Prince of Wales’s charity, alongside Jacqueline Farrell, co-founder of the Future Textiles programme that has has catered for thousands of pupils over five years at Dumfries House in Scotland.

Workshops at Trinity Buoy Wharf in Tower Hamlets will run in line with a model that has already encouraged dozens of graduates into further education and employment in fashion and textiles across the UK. The programme is part of a larger education initiative which will be run by The Prince’s Foundation at Trinity Buoy Wharf, which will also feature training in other traditional craft skills such as stonemasonry, pargetting and thatching."
