Lord Sterling of Plaistow opened Clipper House at Trinity Buoy Wharf with a plaque signing and celebration on Thursday 12th of March 2015.
Clipper House was built from recycled shipping containers and is now in its third incarnation. Previously used for transport, containers made the building blocks of the 2012 Olympic Broadcasting Studios at the Queen’s Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford. The OBS structure provided spaces for broadcasting studios, technical rooms and food outlets. After the Paralympic games, the building was dismantled and brought to Trinity Buoy Wharf in 2014 to become the Clipper House.
Craned in just 5 days, Clipper House offers work spaces and art studios, all with spectacular views over the River Thames. The building is now home to MBNA Thames Clippers Head Office, Royal Drawing School, University of East London, and a number of other creative businesses.
